The purpose of our tutorial is to help elder kindergarteners to acquire initial quilling skills and cultivate in children the desire of creativity making lovely things with their own hands and getting pleasure and fun. The quilled patterns will demonstrate the beauty of DIY children crafts.

— special bought paper quilling strips or colored paper sheets A4 cut into long strips 5 mm width,
— wooden toothpicks with cut ends and made small incisions,
— PVA glue,
— additional materials: cardboard, colored paper, crayons and so on.
1. For making a quilling element insert a paper strip into a hole and wind on a toothpick tight.

2. Take off a roll from a toothpick carefully and unwind it to the needed diameter between the fingers (children do it approximately).

3. Glue the strip end and wait till it dries.

The workpieces can be given different shapes making squeezings and dents.

4. Here the children twist a loose spiral and glue it on a base.

On learning making the main elements, kindergarteners can start composing simple quilled pictures.
