Quilling is an interesting creative activity popular both with adult and children craft makers; things carried out in this technique don`t need a lot of instruments for making. This master class tells you how to create an OWL from paper and glue. The made thing can be used as a pendant, trinket or earrings and be presented to your dears.

For Making an Owl You Neead:

— glue,
— scissors,
— paper of the chosen colors,
— accessories for the thing you want to make.

The paper should be in thin strips 5 mm broad.

Start Working:

Make the OWL`s Head

1. Twist a yellow strip 15 cm long: first twist tight, then weaken as shown in the photo. Up twist a brown strip (2-3 layers).

2. Take a white strip (0,5 cm) and twist, then a yellow one (3 layers) and brown (1 layer). They`ll be the eyes.

3. Twist 2 brown strips (1,5 cm) and make the shape of a curved droplet with your fingers. You may take the paper 3 mm wide.

4. Onto a big ring glue the eyes, then ears (they are brown «droplets». Everything is glued very well.

Make the Body

1. Take a yellow strip (25 cm) and a brown one (15-20 cm). Combine them, twist, weaken a bit and fix with glue.

2. Take 4 yellow strips (15-20 cm) and the same strips of the brown color. Combine the yellow strips with the brown ones, shape the «droplets». These are the wings.

Assemble the Owl

1. Glue the head to a big ring. Then glue the wings symmetrically.

2. Up onto the head glue a ring so that it can be the place for fixing the accessories.

3. Glue everything very well: 3-5 layers, but wait till each layer dries.

4. Cover with acrylic lacquer for better appearance; (you may not do it).

5. The product is ready. Use it as desired.
