Here's a lovely handmade card in the paper quilling art simple even for those who never experienced this technique. So preschool age children can cope with making it under the supervision of adults. Are you ready? Then let's start with our tutorial and you'll have a great creative pleasure working together with your kids.

You'll Need:

thick paper of various colors:

— red,
— dark purple,
— light purple,
— multicolored paper with patterns of red, purple and white colors.
You'll also use scissors, glue, pencil, tweezers, moist cloth.

Making the Background:


1. First make the background for your card. Take red paper and cut out a rectangle 15 cm x 20 cm. Fold the rectangle in half and you'll have a workpiece for the card 15 cm x 10 cm. It'll be the lower layer of the paper.

2. Further, cut out a rectangle 14,5 cm x 9,5 cm from the paper with patterns. Glue this rectangle to the made red one.

3. Now make the last rectangle from the dark purple paper; its size should be less than the previous workpieces 13 cm x 8 cm. It should also be glued, this time to the paper with patterns.

Making the Flower:


For making the flower itself which will consist of 4 hearts, take red single-colored paper and cut out 4 strips 3 mm wide and 15 cm long. Fold the strip in half and take the scissors. To give the hearts-workpieces a more rounder shape, smooth the inner side of the strip with a blunt side of the scissors.

Take a pen or a pencil and twist the ends of each strip a bit.

Take glue and grease it carefully onto the edges of the heart. Finally you'll have a beautiful flower.

Now you have to make the flower middle. Cut out a strip (0,3 x 15 cm) from light purple paper. Moisten its tip and twist the strip with a toothpick.

On twisting the strip to the end, loosen it carefully — it will start untwisting bit by bit — fix it with glue.

Glue the made middle of the flower to the petals. For this prepare a piece of paper, put a bit of glue on it, take the tweezers and hold the middle. Dip it carefully into the glue so as to damp only the lower side. Put the middle of the flower into the center of the composition of the stuck together hearts.

Make the Stalk:


Take the light purple paper and cut out a thin strip 0,3 cm x 7 cm. Glue it carefully in the center of the card. Place the flower from the hearts atop. Now we have to decorate our greeting card with a leaf. For this cut out a rectangle 1,5 см x 3 cm, fold it in two and cut out a semicircle. Incising the paper make a fringe and glue it onto our card.
