This nice volume applique SWAN can be easily made from white paper strips in the quilling technique.

White SWAN in the Quilling Technique

You`ll Need:

— white, green, yellow and blue paper,
— scissors,
— glue,
— a brush.

The Process of Making:

1. Cut a white paper sheet into long strips in size 1 cm long. Twist a strip tightly onto the brush and then take off carefully the made workpiece.

2. Weaken a bit the paper ring. First make it an oval shape, then on the one side squeeze the outer strip part. Glue the strip end.

3. Make the basis: smear the ends of the strips on one side with glue and stick to the sheet.

4. Make the Swan`s neck and head from a white paper strip. For this shape one paper strip end as a loop and glue it to the basis.

5. Twist a spiral of the medium size from white paper strip and a small one from yellow paper. Glue the white workpiece inside the head — loops, the yellow one — to the place where the beak is.

6. Assemble the applique: add the waves, canes — make them in the quilling technique too.

I like it as it`s simple and even beginners in quilling can create it. Besides, I`ve found one more picture with a quiling swan. It`s cute too!
