Art for children. Vase in the Quilling Technique for Beginners

Most of you, dear craft lovers, know and are fond of the things made in the quilling technique. This Quilling Vase is for both skilled quilling makers and beginners in this technique. The vase is made from the materials we can hardly imagine a vase to be made of: old newspapers and magazines which are in excess in our homes. Vase quilling transforms the piles of waste paper turning them into a real masterpiece of papertwisting. Look at the picture of such a vase. Isn`t it cute? Start papertwisting and you`ll have such a beauty in your room decorating one of your book shelves.

First we take and fold the pages of old newspapers and magazines into the strips (how to do it is seen in the picture of a vase). Then twist the strips into the circles, disks of different sizes. Various sizes of the circles will make the vase look more spectacular.

Now we have to glue all the disks to make a ball: for this you can use a round aquarium, globe, bowl or any round thing as a mold. Put the circles onto the mold and glue their edges together.

But don`t glue the mold fully: leave the hole to take the mold out. If you aren`t going to take it out, glue the vase to the end leaving a small hole.

Done! Hope your vase is as beautiful or even better as ours.
