Poetry for Children. Express Love for Dad

My dad is simply the best

My dad is simply the best
I know this because he tells me his patience I test
I really don't mean to do this you know
Indeed I am not aware that this is so

I would not swap him for a million pound
He is the tops — really sound
So dad I may not tell you enough
But I love you loads and think you are made of great stuff.

Daddy, I love you

For all that you do.
I'll kiss you and hug you
'Cause you love me, too.
You feed me and need me
To teach you to play,
So smile 'cause I love you
On this Father's Day.

Thank You Dad

Thank You Dad
Thank you Dad,
For everything you've done,
Thank you Dad,
From your daughter and your son.

Thank you Dad,
For just being there,
Thank you Dad,
For showing that you care.

Thank you Dad,
For showing us the way,
Thank you Dad,
For working hard every day.

Thank you Dad,
You're the very best,
Thank you Dad,
Because you're none like the rest.

A Father's Love

Love so true, a father gives,
his children are, forever his.
From cradle, into adulthood,
gives shelter, in the deepest flood.
His arm embraces, you so tender,
for love so true, will always render.
Compassion, in his loving eyes;
Forgiveness, from the heart inside.
The strictest measure, he will place,
conduct his home, with all his grace.
Respect his person, dearest child;
Your father always, by your side.

Teenage Son to a Father

Father, you don't understand me
you only imagine what I should be!

My problems I never say
you never ask me, Hey!

You say you care for me, Who?
but you don't spend time with me, Do you?

When I was small I used to tell
everything to you, you used to yell

Yes, I am built to your design
but what I love, you always decline

You deny that I am bright
and you always think that you are right

I do agree I am sometimes wrong
as it's the human race to which I belong!

Daddy's Little Girl

Every day since the day I was born,
I have always been your little girl.
And you to me were always
My whole wide world.
Now I have grown up, and you
won't let me go.
This young lady you see needs freedom,
But I want you to always know…
No matter how I look,
No matter what I say,
I'll always be Daddy's little girl,
Deep down inside every day.

Daddy

Good daddy wiped my tears
it’s the small things that
make a difference
tucked me in, in bed when
I wasn’t feeling right.
I’m sure he’s got my back
even when he don’t let me
go out at night,
I guess he’s got his reasons,
like he says,
one day ill understand and
I lay on my bed wishing that,
that day will come by soon.

What is a Dad?

A Dad is a person who is loving and kind,
And often he knows what you have on your mind.
He's someone who listens, suggests, and defends — A dad can be one of your very best friends!
He's proud of your triumphs, but when things go wrong,
A dad can be patient and helpful and strong.
In all that you do, a Dad's love plays a part — There's always a place for him deep in your heart.
And each year that passes, you're even more glad,
More grateful and proud just to call him your dad!

A Father Means....

A Father means so many things…
An understanding heart,
A source of strength and support
Right from the very start.
A constant readiness to help
in a kind and thoughtful way.
With encouragement and forgiveness
No matter what comes your way.
A special generosity and always affection, too
A Father means so many things
When he's a man like you…

Our Fathers

Our fathers toil with hands and heart
To make our lives complete.
They quietly brave the winter cold,
Endure the summer heat.

Our fathers' lives are busy, but
There's always time for us.
They boldly face the ups and downs
And seldom ever fuss.

Our fathers are the greatest dads.
We know you know this, too.
But thank you for the chance to share
Our love for them with you.

Daddy I Love You

Daddy, I love you
For all that you do.
I'll kiss you and hug you
'Cause you love me, too.
You feed me and need me
To teach you to play,
So smile 'cause I love you
On this Father's Day.
