You'll Always Be a Friend to Me

With A Friend

By: Vivian Gould

I can talk with a friend
and walk with a friend
and share my umbrella in the rain.

I can play with a friend
and stay with a friend
and learn with a friend
and explain.

I can eat with a friend
and compete with a friend
and even sometimes disagree.

I can ride with a friend
and take pride with a friend.
A friend can mean so much to me!

The Way It Should Be

by Vergil F.e. Tudtud

Solitude have I to endure,
seemingly held with disclosure.
A fellow left astray,
as yet from yesterday.

Flashing your dainty, disarming smile,
warms my heart every once in a while.
Our longtime kinship
will always bloom with friendship.

It has never been so profound,
a lifetime friend have I found.
Let our friendship be a bond,
which can never be like a dry pond.

Let us not forget the dreams we share,
forever like sisters or brothers we care.
You'll always be a friend to me,
and that's the way it should be.

My Friend

By: Jane S. Zion

My friend is nice.
We like to play
We play together every day.
We laugh and cry
And laugh again
Because, you see, we're

To My Kindred Spirit

by Todd-Michael St. Pierre

We share secrets, we laugh and even cry,
We have so much in common,
Concerns, likes and dislikes.
Ours is a relationship joined by
Tender velvet chains that link our
similar dreams of life and love.
A gentle intuition guides us in our
individual struggles to succeed
at the things we pursue, to stand
out from the crowd.
In you I have found so much of myself,
Including many of the same
Insecurities and philosophies.
Complete inner-peace and happiness,
These are the things I wish for you,
in the present and in the future
because you are my kindred spirit.

by Trudy Starling

When you feel sad and betrayed
Who can you count on every single day?
When you feel lost and alone
Who will be there for you in every way?

When you've made mistakes and bad decisions
Who can you count on to tell you you're wrong?
When you feel you can't go on
Who will be there with a feel-better song?

Look into your heart and you will find
That person you can trust is not far away.
Look deep into yourself, don't give up,
For if you do, it's yourself you'll betray.

When you're looking for answers
To all your questions and dreams,
There is one person you can count on,
It's impossible, I know, it seems.

But take a few moments to look deeper inside.
Look into your heart and there you will see.
You'll be surprised when you find out
That you've been looking at ME.

You Are My Best Friend!

by Katherine James

Best friends we are,
Best friends we'll be,
For always forever,
You and Me!

Longer than a phone call,
Deeper than the sea,
All this belongs to us,
You and Me!

Put it in a bottle,
Never let it free,
keep it in your heart,
You and Me!

I hope you read this poem,
Remember it for me,
Look after it with care,
You and Me!

True Friend

by Ashley Campbell

A friend is like a star that twinkles and glows
Or maybe like the ocean that gently flows
A friend is like gold that you should treasure
And take care of forever and ever
A friend is like an angel that is there to guide you
A friend is someone you can trust out of a few
A friend is more than one in a million
They are one in a ca-zillion
And you, my friend, are very special
and so it is official.

You Have A Friend In Me

Kase And Sash

You have a friend in me,
Don't try and hide your feelings because your best friend can see.
I mean the world to you,
That's how I know our friendship is true.
We will be besties for life,
One gets stabbed we both feel the knife…

A Wish For You

by Rohan

A dream is a wish your heart makes
and my heart makes a wish for you
That you may find a rainbow
where all your dreams will come true.

May there be sunlight ever streaming
into your heart each day,
May you find the hand of friendship
along each new highway.

And may loving arms enfold you
when you need someone to care.
And may your heart know that my heart
is with you everywhere…

My Dear Friend

by Brandon Chase Sims

Dear friend I can't explain to you
How much you mean to me
If it weren't for you I can't imagine
Where I'd even be

You've made me laugh and smile
More than I can bear
You've helped me through the hardest times
When I was in despair

You kept me up when I was down
And I was feeling blue
You helped me turn my life around
And become somebody new

Thank you friend for everything
I'm glad you really cared
Thanks for never leaving me
Thanks for being there

I want to add the poems that touched my feelings very much:

I Will Be Here
by Nicole George

Whenever you're sad,
or feeling blue,
Just call on me.
I'll be here for you.

Whenever you're happy,
or feeling sad,
Just call on me.
You are going to be glad that you had.

'Cause I'm gonna be there
with open arms.
I'm going to be there
to bear your arms.

I may be young,
or tiny like a bug,
but when you're sad
I swear to God,
I give the biggest hugs.

So when you're lonely
or just plain blue,
Just think of me,
or this poem,
And I'll come to you.

On The Wings of A Butterfly
by Christine McClimans

Your friendship is special
Like the flowers that bloom,
Or when a butterfly emerges
From within its cocoon…

You remind me of that butterfly,
Loving and free,
Bright and colorful,
For the world to see…

We will share sunshine and rainbows;
Sometimes, the rain and the snow;
We'll stand together through it,
While the cold winds blow…

When the time is right,
We won't stop to ask «Why?»
Our friendship will take flight
On the wings of a butterfly…

My Special Friend
by Joe Leblanc

Your cheerful smile
Your caressing hand
It's the really simple things
That make your life look so grand

You're a special woman
It's in your eyes
I see the truth
There is no disguise

It's your spirit
Maybe your soul
But my life without you
Would feel painfully old

You've been a true friend
I hope you stay
I would be so very empty
If you ever went away

... is you.
... is love.
... is shared.
... is forgiving.
... is understanding.
... is shared secrets.
... heals many hurts.
... is not judgmental.
... is shared laughter.
... is slow and steady.
... can be angry at times.
... is dependable and true.
... is more precious than silver or gold.
... is meant to be savored like fine wine.
... is not perfect, much like we are not perfect.
... does not hold grudges or demand perfection.
... makes all the wrong things in life, right somehow.
... is meant to be gulped like lemonade on a hot summer day.
... is always there, through times of trial, happy times and hard times.
... just happens, but once discovered, needs to be tended like a beautiful garden.
... is a road to be traveled slowly, remembering the sights and sounds.
... is strength when you are too weak to notice its there.
... is a cherished moment of mutual understanding.
... reaches into your heart and grabs a firm hold.
... is a refreshing rain on a hot day.
... is sunshine through the clouds.
... cannot be forced or induced.
... is relaxed and comfortable.
... is a shoulder to lean on.
... is an ear to whine to.
... gets better with age.
... is shared tears.
... is shared pain.
... is shared joy.
... is shared.
... is love.
... is you.
… a true friend is a treasure that is hard to find. But when you've done it, you'll be under reliable protection all your life, I'm certain.

Friends For Life
by Angelica N. Brissett

We are friends.
I've got your back,
And you have mine.
I'll help you out
To see you hurt,
To see you cry,
Makes me weep
And wanna die.
If you agree
To never fight,
It wouldn't matter
Who's wrong or right.
If a broken heart
Needs a mend,
I'll be right there
Till the end.
If your cheeks are wet
From drops of tears,
Don't worry,
Let go of your fears.
Hand in hand
Love is sent.
We'll be friends
Till the end!

If I Could Tell You
by Krystal

When I see you in the morning,
it brightens up my day.
There are so many thoughts on my mind,
so many words I want to say.

I want to tell you how I feel,
but the words I cannot find.
They're all mixed up with my thoughts
that are running through my mind.

I've been keeping it locked up
because I know there's not a chance.
You never look my way.
You don't even take a glance.

You don't even know you're doing this,
toying with my heart.
I wish I could just tell you,
but I don't know where to start.

Should I tell you how much you mean to me
or how badly I want to be with you?
If I were to say these things
how would you react, what would you do?

Would you never talk to me again?
Would you never look my way?
That would just bring me back
to where I am today.

Then I'd start all over
and choose a different route
to make you understand
my feelings that want out.

I don't know what to do
or even how to say.
Maybe I should lock it up
and keep myself away.

My heart would ache even more,
but maybe for the good.
I just really want to tell you
only if I could.

Written with a pen, sealed with a kiss,
If you are my friend, please answer me this:
Are we friends, or are we not?
You told me once, but I forgot.
So tell me now, and tell me true,
So I can say I'm here for you.
Of all the friends I've ever met,
You're the one I won't forget.
And if I die before you do,
I'll go to Heaven and wait for you,
I'll give the angels back their wings
And risk the loss of everything.
There isn't a thing I wouldn't do,
To have a friend just like you!
