Drawing is the activity that can`t leave any child indifferent. If he didn`t like painting at first, but it`s beginning to grow on him. The more the kid draws, the more he immerses in drawing. It becomes the activity that takes all his free time and brings him pleasure, satisfaction and joy. This painting lesson for kids is presented with step by step instructions which help young enthusiastic artists learn to paint and «dress» a fabulous Christmas Tree.

To paint and «dress» a Christmas Tree you`ll need:
* a sheet of A4 paper (better take paper for watercolor);
* paints (watercolor, gouache). You`ll need paints, mostly, of green, blue, ocher, vinous and white shades. Be ready — your child may use all the palette of colors.
* some brushes;
* a jar with water (take two jars or change water oftener);
* a rag

Take the main color (green grass) on the wide brush and make dabs as shown in the picture. Then take Olympic green, azure or any shades of blue.

Shape a fir-tree with wide dabs. Don`t paint brown or black trunks. Explain to a young artist that brunches are round the trunk and practically hide it. A Fir-Tree «foot» can be drawn down. And for it, it`s better to use not black but brown or blue paint.

Add ocher and vinous-purple shades to paint needles.

The Fir-Tree is drawn! If you cut it and glue on colored paper, it`ll be very nice and spectacular.

When the picture is dried up, the Fir-Tree may be decorated or wrapped with snow.
Using small brushes and gouache of bright shades (yellow, red, orange, pink) «scatter» round blots on the Tree — they`ll be Christmas ornaments.

On the Fir-Tree top draw a Star with orange paint making touches in different sides. Then wash the brush carefully and with white paint and light movements make wavy vertical patterns imitating «rain». It`s important that the picture of a Fir-Tree should be dried up by that time.

Then think about gifts. With a thick brush and different paints (watercolor: yellow, blue, pink) make some dab-blots: horizontal and vertical.
While the gift figures are drying, paint the background using blue, yellow, pink, orange colors. Let the picture dry.

Paint the ribbons on the gifts with contrasty color as shown in the picture.

The Christmas tree may be «sprinkled» with snow. Take white paint and add a bit of yellow, red and blue; after mixing these paints you`ll have quite realistic «snow» color. Put «snow flakes» on the Fir-Tree brunches in chaotic order.

Don`t forget about the general background of the picture — use white with blue, red and yellow. Paint snowdrifts. Up the frosty air should be lighter and clearer — for this watercolor can be used as the background.

As you see, it`s not difficult to paint such Christmas beauties — even the children over three years can cope with the task.
