Mashed Potatoes Champ

Craft ideas. Traditional Recipe of the Irish Cuisine on St. Patrick`s Day - Mashed Potatoes CHAMP

You`ll need:

— potatoes — 900 gm
— milk — 150 ml.
— butter — 50 gm
— a small bunch of green onions
— black pepper and salt to taste

Cooking:

Wash the potatoes thoroughly and, without peeling, cut into large slices. Pour cold water into a small pan and put the cut potatoes into it. Place the pan on the fire and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook the potatoes for 20 minutes.

While boiling the potatoes, prepare the seasonings. Pour the milk into a small pan and put it on the fire. Add the finely chopped green onions into the milk and bring to a boil on a small fire. Cook stirring till the onion softening.

When the potatoes are cooked, pour the water out of the pan, cool and peel the potatoes. Then put the peeled slices into the pan again and place the pan onto a small fire. Shaking the potatoes periodically, evaporate the water from them. After the potatoes have dried, pour the prepared milk-onion seasoning into the pan with the potatoes and mash the potatoes. Stirring thoroughly add some salt and pepper to your taste.

Before serving, put the mashed potatoes in the form of slides, make a hole in the center and put the butter into it.

This dish is a great garnish for Corned Beef with red wine sauce. Bon appetite and Happy Saint Patrick`s Day!
