Chinese cabbage can be used not only for preparing salads but also for their decorations — vegetable carving. A cute lush chrysanthemum turns out from Chinese cabbage. Special knives will make your work easy. For creating this flower take a curved knife with a groove.

Preparing:


1. Take a cabbagehead 300 to 700 gr, remove flabby leaves and cut off the upper part of it, leaving about 12-15 cm.

2. Work with a curved knife of oval or triangular cross section.

3. Make the sections of different length on the thick veins of leaves, moving the knife from the upper section to the base of the cabbagehead. The beginning of the section is made thinner. Deepen the knife into the cabbage when reaching the cabbage stalk.

4. Not reaching 1,5-2 cm to the cabbage stalk, remove the cut out large leaves. If a leaf keeps tight, incise it with a small knife.

5. Cut the next leaves in the same manner, shortening the length of the flower petals to the middle.

6. Put the chrysanthemum into icy water for half an hour to make a graceful shape. If the petal edges are thin, in cold water they will bend beautifully. From a cucumber cut out 2 green leaves and together with the made chrysanthemum decorate a salad dish.
