This carving idea will appeal to little kids as we offer them to make a Frog from an Apple. Look at this creature; isn`t it lovely? It`s not very complicated to make — using our instructions you`ll cope with doing it without any difficulty. Good luck!

FROG from an APPLE

What you`ll need:

— 1 large green apple;
— 3 prunes;
— 2 raisins from bright grapes;
— a knife.

How to make it:

1. Cut a small part, about 1/6, from an apple. Place the fruit on the formed surface, divide the cut off part into 6 segments — first along, in half, then each half twice again so as to have two small narrow lobules and four segments of a triangle form. They are the workpieces for the frog feet.

2. The apple is on the flat surface left from the cut off part. Now cut from it one more narrow but long, through the whole apple, lobule — it`ll be the mouth of the frog. You can make it wider or narrower, as you like; but it should be nearer to the cut part of the apple.

3. Start assembling the frog: on the apple sides place two small lobules got from cutting the cut part in the first point. They`ll be the «knees» — our frog is sitting.

4. Now form the feet from the triangle parts: cut the triangle top, then cut two small triangles from its low line turning it into a zigzag line. You`ve made a foot. Put it to the «knee» and repeat the same for the second «knee».

5. And now cut in the same way the left two triangle workpieces and put them to the front part of the frog. The front feet should be a bit narrower than the back ones (as in the picture) — cut the excess on the sides.

6. The Frog is ready. Now you are to make its muzzle. Put a prune into the «muzzle» — a triangle incision. From above with a knife make two small slots for «eyes» and put vertically two more prunes into them. Atop put carefully the raisins to make the pupils.
