Here we learn the technique of simple homemade carving — nice flowers LILIES from cucumbers with photoes and step by step description of making.

1. Cut a piece of cucumber 7-8 cm, cut a cucumber tail a bit. Make a section in the form of a leaf, not cutting to the lower edge of the workpiece.

2. Make other leaves with small distance between them in a circle around the workpiece.

3. With a knife make a cut 1-2 mm thick in a circle, making the place for cutting the next row of petals.

4. With an oval knife make the next row of petals chequerwise with respect to the previous row. Then cut the place for the petals of the following row again. Make as many rows as the size of the workpiece allows.

5. Scrape the cucumber core off with a knife, making enough place in the center for placing the flower core.

6. Cut the leaves a bit forming a triangular shape on the ends. Lower the flower into ice water — it`ll unfold nicely.

7. Out of a carrot, pumpkin or radish make the core of the suitable size. Decorate it with snips.

8.Insert the core into the flower. It can be strengthened on a toothpick.
Place the LILY on a twig with leaves or a colored wooden stick for shashlik. The leaves to the stick can be cut from a cucumber, too.
